Sharing a File with Others

This tutorial will tell you how to share your measurement results with other BenchIT users. We're assuming that you have already uploaded one or more files to BenchIT.org.

Follow these steps to share a file:

• Log into your BenchIT.org account and visit the MyBenchIT page.
• Click onto MyFiles, to go to your uploaded files.

• Choose your desired grouping option and open one or more groups, to view the files you want to share.
• Enable the checkboxes of one or more files or use the (un)check all-option to select the files you want to share.

• Click on the "share selected" button to define the groups your files will be visible for.
• On the next page, you are presented with a filename vs. usergroup matrix.
  • Using the checkboxes, you can specify, which file will be shared for which user group.
  • The filenames and group names act as links, clicking them will select all checkboxes in a row or column, respectively.

• Finish your actions by clicking on the "proceed" button, your files will be shared with the selected user groups.
• Return to your MyFiles section to view the changed status of your files. A [req] is appended to the filenames you wanted to share.

Now, an administrator will check your sharing requests and verify them. Only valid and correct result files will be shared.

Revoking a shared File

Revoking, or unsharing a file is done similiar to the sharing process above.

• From the MyFiles section, choose the [shared] or [req] files you want to revoke and press "share selected".
• In the following matrix, deselect checkboxes to revoke a file for a specific group or use the quick links to deselect a whole file/group.
• Press the proceed button to commit your changes.

Peviously shared files are not shared anymore and all files that where marked as [req] are revoked from the request qeue.
